N’Golo Kante has returned to training after a time of self-isolation.

Last month, the 30-year-old tested positive for Covid-19, which meant he missed Juventus’ Champions League match and Southampton’s Premier League match.

As a result, Kante was left out of France’s squad for this month’s Nations League matches.

Chelsea have today released a statement on their website which reads: “N’Golo Kante returned to training following his period of isolation from Covid-19.

“The French midfielder tested positive for Covid ahead of our Champions League trip to Juventus but after completing his period of self-isolation, he is now clear to resume training.

“Kante trained away from the main group today, working on his fitness with a number of individual drills, with the aim to integrate him back into things after the international break.”

N’Golo, who has also struggled with a groin issue this season, will now be aiming to be match fit and ready for Chelsea’s Premier League comeback on October 16 against Brentford.
