Malang Sarr

Chelsea’s rising defender Malang Sarr has shared with us his rituals before stepping onto the pitch on matchdays.

Following a struggled start on the sidelines, the 23-year-old Frenchman has begun to steadily earn some first-team football this season.

So how does Sarr prepare for match action starting from when he wakes up in the morning on matchday?

“Firstly I like to have a walk. Normally we have the team walk on the day of a game so that’s good for me,” Malang Sarr told Chelsea’s media.

“I start listening to music when I’m in the bus and throughout my preparation at the stadium. There are a few songs that I listen to each and every game but I try to change it a little bit each time and I like lots of different types of music.

“If it’s good weather I go out just to see the pitch sometimes, give a little call to my mother just before going back to the locker room. It gives me some strength,” the former Nice star added.
