Paul Pogba

Before deciding on his future, Paul Pogba is said to be waiting to see what happens with Paris Saint-Germain’s pursuit of Zinedine Zidane.

The France international’s free-agent exit from Manchester United was announced earlier this month, bringing his second stint at Old Trafford to a close after six years.

Real Madrid were thought to be the frontrunners to capture Pogba on a free transfer, but the club has instead focused on Monaco’s Aurelien Tchouameni.

Juventus had long been considered the frontrunners to re-sign Pogba after Real abandoned their interest following the Frenchman’s trophy-laden first term in Turin.

PSG, the Ligue 1 winners, are still hoping to entice the 29-year-old back to his nation as part of their midfield revamp this summer.

Pogba hasn’t completely ruled out a move to PSG, according to RMC Sport, with the French club still wanting to sign Zidane as their new manager.

PSG’s chosen replacement for Mauricio Pochettino is considered to be the three-time Champions League-winning coach, who departed Real Madrid in the summer of 2021.

Reports earlier this week stated that Zidane had accepted an offer to take over at the Parc des Princes, but sources close to the 49-year-old promptly debunked the claims.

Pogba is rumoured to have received a three-year contract offer from Juventus after scoring 34 goals and providing 40 assists in 178 appearances across all competitions during his first term with the club.

Before his £94.5 million return to Old Trafford in 2016, the World Cup winner won four Serie A championships and reached the Champions League final under Massimiliano Allegri.

Between 2016 and 2022, Pogba helped the Red Devils win one Europa League championship and one EFL Cup, but in his last season with the club, he only scored one goal and added nine assists in 27 games.
