Chelsea has been one of the leading teams in producing academy stars in recent seasons.

Reece James has been flourishing this season under head coach Thomas Tuchel and he isn’t the only prospect from the Blues academy. There are a number of players doing well and they are not only benefiting the Blues.

Futaa takes a look at five players from Chelsea’s academy to have done so well so far this season in the Premier League.

Marc Guehi

Guehi signed for Crystal Palace from Chelsea in the summer on a five-year deal for a reported fee of ÂŁ18m. The England international had impressed during his loan stint with Swansea City for 18 months

The 21-year-old formed a part of the England U17 alongside the likes of Phil Foden and Callum Hudson-Odoi as they won the World Cup four years ago.

He has been in fine form for Palace this season and remains the youngest center back to make more than five league starts in this campaign. He has formed a fine partnership with Joachim Anderson at the backbone of Palace’s backline.

Against Manchester City, he contested five duels, winning all of them as his side beat the defending champions 2-0 as well as helping Palace to keep a clean sheet.

Reece James

James has been in fine form for the Blues under Thomas Tuchel and cemented his position in Chelsea’s starting XI. The England international has already been involved in six goals in just five Premier League starts.

The 21-year-old is Chelsea’s top scorer in the Premier League, having netted four as many he has managed in the past three seasons for Wigan and Chelsea.

Chelsea academy Trevoh Chalobah

Chalobah returned from his loan spell at Lorient last season and was tipped to go out in a bid to get more playing time. However, Thomas Tuchel made it clear he wanted the youngster to remain as he was part of his plans.

The 22-year-old impressed during the pre-season and also starred in Chelsea’s win over Villareal in the UEFA Super Cup.

He has made five appearances in the domestic league, netting twice for the Blues, and has seamlessly filled the void left by Kurt Zouma who joined West Ham in the summer.

Chelsea academy Conor Gallagher

Gallagher moved from Chelsea to Crystal Palace on a season-long loan during the summer and has been outstanding for Patrick Vieira’s men. He has netted three goals while providing two assists as he was on target during his side’s 2-0 victory over Manchester City.

Chelsea academy Valentino Livramento

Since his move from Chelsea to Southampton, the young defender has made an instant impact. He is the only defender younger than Guehi to have played more than 500 minutes this season.
