Raine Group running the sale of Chelsea

Raine Group, the New York investment bank running the sale of Chelsea on behalf of Roman Abramovich is set to announce the preferred bidders in the coming days. 

The London club was put up for sale by the Russian, who was sanctioned following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

So far, the Raine Group has received six bids from different interested parties, which were submitted in line with Friday, March 18 deadline, but according to reports, they will be narrowed down to three.

Raine Group will reportedly reveal on Tuesday, March 22, the bidders that will proceed to the next stage of the process.

The top favourites include the consortiums led by Sir Martin Broughton, Nick Candy, Todd Boehly, and the Ricketts family.

The Blues were hit by sanctions on Abramovich two weeks ago, heavily paralysing their normal operations.

Under the sanctions, the club cannot sell merchandise, tickets or sign new players.
