Following three consecutive games on Bernabeu against Real Mallorca, Villarreal and Sheriff Tiraspol, Real Madrid are set to play their next few matches on the road.

Los Blancos play away at Espanyol on Sunday, with their home game against Athletic Club, which was initially scheduled for the weekend of October 9/10, having been postponed.

This means that Real Madrid will have to dispute two games away from the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League and Barcelona in LaLiga Santander.

Hence, it won’t be until the weekend of October 27/28 that Real Madrid return to their home ground, as they take on Osasuna.

This long break gives the club the opportunity to work relentlessly on the renovation of the Bernabeu, which will be not used until the aforementioned match with Osasuna.

Following the game with Sheriff last Tuesday, builders have removed all the tarps from the stands and have turned the stadium back into a construction area.
