Jurrien Timber has brushed off reports that he may join Manchester United during this summer’s transfer window.
The 20-year-old has been in fine form for his Dutch side this season, appearing in 40 matches across all competitions and producing three goals and one assist.
Erik ten Hag, the next manager of Manchester United, is reportedly hoping to take Timber to Old Trafford this summer.
The Netherlands international, though, has stated that he is “glad” in Amsterdam and would remain so as long as the team “plays in the Champions League.”
“I’m good at Ajax. I can still learn a lot, especially if we continue to play in the Champions League,” Timber told Het Parool.
“He deserves it (the Man United job). Ten Hag has been very important to me personally. Under him, I became the footballer, the man I am today. The coach talked to me a lot. He’s been very critical, in a good, constructive way. I won’t forget it any time soon.”
Jurrien Timber, whose contract with Ajax expires in two years, has primarily featured as a center-back this season but is also capable of playing as a full-back.
