Sadio Mane

Jay Jay Okocha has made a brilliant point here. The Nigerian has given great insight into Sadio Mane s true heroics in the AFCON 2021 last Sunday.

As reported here on Futaa on Sunday night, Senegal defeated Egypt in the AFCON 2021 final, thanks to a 4-2 penalty shootout victory after the match ended goalless after extra time.

While Sadio Mane brilliantly slammed home the winning penalty, the 29-year-old star did miss a penalty in the seventh minute of the game. Mentally, he was beyond brave to step up again for the decisive kick.

“It’s not every player that can step up again to go and take that penalty,” Okocha said via SuperSport TV.

“Because you know in Africa how hostile our fans are. By doing so, he was risking his life, risking his family’s life, even your home, you know?

“But that’s what he’s born to do. He’s born to play football, and whatever comes with it, he’s willing to accept it,” the former midfielder concluded.
