The Confederation of African Football (CAF), have reportedly green-lighted what was slammed in Europe. CAF are believed to have approved African Super League.
According to a wide range of reports, including one from the researcher and writer Nqobile Ndlovu, CAF are expected to announce the decision in the coming days.
“CAF Super League Approved. No details have been provided by CAF but they have adopted a resolution to introduce a Super League,” the report said.
The leading Ghanaian journalist Yaw Ampofo Jr also confirmed the news.
“African Super League’ has been approved at the CAF Extraordinary Congress. President, Patrice Motsepe explained the decision in Ghana; the decision was due to the nature of the deals signed on the CAFCL & CAFCC. It is impossible to cancel those deals hence the Super League.”
Meanwhile, CAF are expected to officially confirm the news in the coming hours or days.
