Barcelona’s coach Ronald Koeman has made it clear he wants Ousmane Dembele at Camp Nou next season.
The 23-year-old winger’s future is still up in the air, while the end of contract with Barcelona nears at the end of the season.
"I would like Ousmane Dembélé to stay,” Koeman said as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
Romano added to confirm that new club president Joan Laporta is responsible for keeping the in-demand Dembele.
“Barcelona are set to open negotiations and offer him a new contract - one of Laporta’s priorities. Many clubs are interested in Dembele if an agreement will not reached. But Barça will push in the next weeks,” Romano concluded.
Meanwhile, the Catalans are preparing for the mighty El Classico derby against Real Madrid this weekend.
