The 1xCup 2026 Trophy Tour continued with a courtesy visit to the Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission. The 1xCup delegation was led by the Technical Director of the competition, Mr. Waidi Akanni, alongside Ms. Geraldine Ibeanusi, Managing Director of 1xBet, Mr. Ewuzie Nnana, and Mr. Dimeji Adedapo, General Manager of 1xCup.
Mr JJ Akanji who is a consultant to the 1xcup technical director introduced the team and appreciated the DG for the Audience.
Mr Waidi Akanni also thanked the DG for granting us audience and for the good work the Commision is doing, also he appreciated them for being present in our last year edition.
Ms Geraldine also appreciated the DG for his support towards development of Sports and Youths engagement. She informed him we will continue to do our best as an organization to contribute to the growth and development of Youth and Sports in Lagos and Nigeria at large.
The DG in his response appreciated the 1xCup orgarnising committee and the Sponsors 1xBet for the great effort and good work they have been doing for the past 3 years. In his word 1xCup has become one of the Foundations and Catalyst for grass root Football Competitions in Lagos and Nigeria, he applauded Mr Waidi Akanni for his contributions and efforts to the sporting industry in Nigeria. He also pledged his support and endorsed the competition and states that he will be available on the final day to show their support to the innovation.
The trophy and gift box was handed to him as well as a signed football personally presented by Alhaji Waheed Akanni.
